It is often true. Wait, actually, it is true. So I was watching a Japanese movie at a group university event today, completely shy and on my own; the first few minutes were a bit scary, not going to lie. I saw some new faces, not a single person I could recognize. I was so confused about what to do, then I stopped overthinking, grabbed popcorn and cola and sat there and enjoyed the movie without any distractions. The movie is called Howl’s moving castle. In the idealistic romance, the girl somehow magically falls in love with this guy who feels he is a monster and, well, he technically is, and an ending that many would expect. It doesn’t really happen in real life very often. Nevertheless, a must-watch movie, in my opinion.
It got me thinking about why we are so fascinated with love. I realized that I don’t know the answer and probably will never fully know. Just a version which I am blessed with would be my reality. So That’s it then, right? Nothing more, and we have concluded? Here is a surprise for you guys; the reason I got to see this movie in the first place is that I surprisingly had the craving to eat some sushi and stopped by the sushi place, which is on my way back home. It is a 5 minute walk from my house, and I decided to go there. Guess what? I met this sweet Japanese girl who invited me to my university’s Japanese club movie night, and this experience was worth it! If you are reading this, by the way, Arigato/ありがとう
So sometimes life will surprise us with experiences that we never saw coming, and those little things make the stranger parts of reality much more forgiving and beautiful! It’s good to keep it short and simple sometimes…
