There are so many different ways we can experience culture and music in our lives. This can be through people, food, music, land, and so many more little nuances. I was in one of my occasional Tanhai(solitude) guitar sessions basically no audience, just me, my guitar and the feeling of the music. I tried something I have never done before I sang two of the songs I liked, but they were from two languages I had absolutely no understanding of. Never spoken, never read just heard, but there are some amazing connections I felt with that music. I was still feeling the feeling of peace as well as happiness at the same time. It made me realize just maybe when they say love has no language, it could be true. My head was feeling relaxed, and my body was almost like I could fly. It sounds surreal, and I agree maybe I over-exaggerate a little bit but trust me, the feeling made my day. I am open to the experiences life has yet to give me, and sometimes just talking and trying new things, we can get to learn about parts of ourselves we never knew existed. We just have to be brave to trust someone with those parts of ourselves; I know it scares you; it scares me too. However, fear is just an extension of an obstacle stopping us from living our lives to the fullest.
By this, do I mean to go there and tell the people I like them? The short answer is “I don’t know,” Long answer is “I can’t because…” Sometimes I wish I could live the simple life of being easygoing and just saying things to people, but fortunately or unfortunately, that isn’t who I am right now. I am an over-thinker who loves to be creative with words and messages. It gives me the freedom to feel the best of life but also the harshest pains. You can’t have one without another.
I would end this with a quote from one movie I like “When you are young, everything feels like the end of the world, but it’s not. It is just the beginning” (17 Again, 2009).
